Following the global outbreak of the dreaded novel COVID-19, the Plateau State Government in its determination to prevent the spread and containment of the virus has employed safety, preventive and precautionary measures.
Today, the State Governor announced the full closure of all border entry points into the State with effect from 6am Thursday 2nd April, 2020.
This decision was made known in a statement by the Honorable State Commissioner of Information and Communication, Hon. Dan Manjang.
Hon. Dan Manjang said with the decision, there will be no exit or entrance into the State. He said the decision became necessary to enable government intensify its efforts aimed at fighting the coronavirus disease and preventing possible outbreak in the State.
The Statement advised the general public to adhere strictly to the new directive saying security agencies have been directed to enforce full compliance.
He went further to say the decision is in the general interest of public health and will take effect from 6am, Thursday 2nd April, 2020.
