The Plateau State Government yesterday said the 1000 trainees of Operation Rainbow, the state government Task Force on peace and security included youths from different ethnic and religious groups contrary to recent allegations that the selection was marred by ethnic and religious bias.
Governor Jonah Jang, who spoke at the graduation ceremony of the trainees, who underwent a two weeks training on personal protection awareness by the Israeli based Protection and Counter Terrorism Centre under the International Security Academy said “the trainees include Christians and Muslims, there are Hausa and Fulanis among the youths because Operation Rainbow is an un prejudiced outfit with no ethnic or religious bias.”

Jang said the training course had been transparent and included some selected journalists who were invited to join the exercise adding that “as we all know, violent criminals and terrorists know neither Christians nor Muslims as they attack and kill their victims.”
The Coordinator of Operation Rainbow, retired AVM Bala Danbaba said other security agencies such as the Nigerian Police, the State Security Service as well as some members of the Civil Society were part of the training exercise.
