The Conference of Autochthonous Ethnic Nationalities Community Development Associations, CONAECDA, a network of over 400 Ethnic nationalities Associations in Nigeria has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his determination to address the insecurity bedeviling the Country, especially, in the Middle belt.
The Association made its position known in its communique signed Danladi Jeji and Suleman D. Sukukum, Conference President and and Secretary, respectively and issued in Jos Plateau after it’s 2025 Annual meeting.
In the communique, the delegates also expressed appreciation to the President on the appointment of the former Chief of Defense Staff, Gen. Christopher G. Musa, as Minister of Defense and attributed his outstanding performance in service as key to his current position.
The Conference also applauded the appointment of Dr. Bernard Doro, as Minister of Humanitarian Services and described it as a step in the right direction, adding that it represents the Administration’s desire of ensuring that adequate attention is given to all sections of the country to participate and contribute their quotas in the governance of the country.
The Communique, which welcomed the declaration of state of emergency on insecurity and the approval of the President for the establishment of State Police, described the policy as commendable steps towards combating and the eliminating the henious activities of perpetrators of banditry and criminality in the country.
Participants also called on Government to acknowledge the existence of groups carrying out genocide against Religious groups and Ethnic nationalities across the Middle belt with the view to ensure that special and adequate security measures are put in place to protect all vulnerable groups.
