College of Education Gindiri confers award on Late Baba Solomon Lar, 4 others

College of Education Gindiri in Mangu Local Government Council of Plateau State at the weekend confered on the first civilian governor of Plateau State Chief Solomon Daushep Lar and four others a meritorious service award during the collage 28th to 33rd combined convocation ceremony held at the weekend.

Our correspondent recalled that the collage of education Gindiri was established in 1980 by the administration of Chief Solomon Lar during his first tenure in office as the executive governor of the state.

Speaking to our correspondent, member representing Langtang North/South in the House of Representatives, Hon. Beni Lar, the daughter of Late Chief Solomon Lar who received the award on behalf of the family said there was no insecurity in Plateau when her father was Governor in 1980.

She noted that her late father who established the College in 1980 when he was first Civilian Governor of the state also established over 100 Primary and Secondary Schools, several health institutions in Plateau and Nasarawa State.

Beni Lar added that her late father believed in human development and said most Plateau leaders are beneficiaries of his scholarship and left a legacies that stands the test of time in the state .

In the same vein, the chairman of Langtang North local government area Hon. Joshua Ubandoma Laven advice the present crops of leaders in the country to strives to leave a good legacies which is better that riches saying by so doing that the society will always remember them.
