The president of Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), along with Directors and pastors from COCIN headquarters, RCC Vwang, Turu, Kuru and Gyel recently demonstrated leadership by example, by turning out enmasse and rolling up their sleeves to assist with manual labour at the Karl Kumm Unversity building project in Vom.
ViewPointNigeria learns that the church leadership team turned out with various building equipment, including shovels, head-pans etc and cheerfully worked alongside the building contractors at the site. They were led by the COCIN president, Rev. Dr Soja Bewarang and his vice, Rev. Dr Dachomo Datiri.
Speaking to The Light Bearer Newspaper after the exercise, Rev. Dr. Bewarang bared that their direct participation in the building project was symbolic, to demonstrate that there was unity, togetherness and brotherhood within the church. He then called on young people to see their hands-on participation in the project as a form of lesson on the importance of unity and hardwork. “When we put our heads together there is nothing we cannot achieve because there is power in what many can do. Manual labour dates back to the history of the church. We did a similar thing at the Gindiri College of Theology where we made mud blocks to build the school”, he said. He expressed gratitude to church members, Reverends and Pastors who were not deterred by the heavy rain, but still came out enmasse to ensure that the work was undertaken.

In a thanksgiving address after the work, Chairman R.C.C Vwang and P.C.C Jos, Rev. John Nash thanked the people for their show of love for God’s work and prayed that God bless them abundantly. He stated that there was still much work to be done and called on people to avail themselves when another work day was slated.
