Cmr. Ephraim Usman Coronated as “Garkuwan Baghunto” in Kanam LGA, Plateau State

It was indeed a historic, memorable, remarkable, fun filled and auspicious day today in Gar Dengi District of Kanam LGA, Plateau State as a Philanthropist, Mr. Ephraim Usman was coronated as the “Garkuwan Baghunto”.

The event though low key in line with the COVID-19 Health Protocols brought together Academics, Captains of Industries, top political stalwarts across party lines, religious/traditional leaders, youths, women, families, Friends and well wishers.

The coronation ceremony held at Pishe Gar Dengi District of Kanam LGA and was carried out by the Traditional Head of the Community, HRH. Isa Agunu, the Pangkwal Baghinto who described the Title Holder as a worthy Ambassador who is contributing immensely to the growth and development of the Area, Local Government, State and Nation at large.

Mr. Ephraim Usman who was accompanied by his gorgeous Wife, Family Members, Friends and Well Wishers was later decorated with the Traditional Attires and took a symbolic Horse Ride to herald the event. It rained immediately after the coronation was consummated.

Speaking after the coronation, the New ” Garkuwan Baghunto”, Cmr. Ephraim Usman appreciated the traditional Council and the entire people of the area for the honor bestowed on him.
He said the title will spur him to do more to humanity and the society. He urged the people to make unity, peace and harmonious living their priority saying that is the way meaningful development could be achieved.
He said he is not unaware of the responsibilities accompanying the title and concluded he will not disappoint the people.

In his remark, the Vice Chancellor of the prestigious University of Jos, Prof. Sebastine Maimako described the celebrant as an industrious, loyal, humble, exceptional and obedient Employee who is adding value to the institution. He charged the celebrant not disappoint the trust and confidence reposed on him by the people.

Rt. Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, Member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency and Chairman House Committee on Navy commended the Title Recipient as a man of honor and honor.

The Executive Chairman of Kanam LGC, Hon. Abbas Wokdung posited that the Recipient is a symbol of peace and harmonious living who us making the Local Government proud as a worthy Ambassador.

Executive Chairman Langtang North LGC, Hon. Joshua Laven Ubandoma described the recipient as humble, patriotic Nigeria and purpose driven whose impacts are visible Nationally.

Elder Brother to the Title Recipient, Hon. Danjuma Usman described him as a rising star and a pillar who is doing not only the family proud but the Community, Local Government and State at large considering his contributions to the society.

Chief Ayuba Gufwan Burki, the CEO of Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre Jos while congratulating the Celebrant charged him to sustain his sense of humanity and patriotism and continue to impact humanity and the society positively. He later donated 10 wheelchairs to some persons living with disabilities in the community.

Guests were later treated to a dinner at the residence of the Title Recipient in Gar, Kanam LGA.

Residents of the Area and Guests who could not hide their joy were seen dancing and celebrating after the coronation.

Also at the epoch making event were Prof & Mrs Mangut Mankilik, Engr. Silas Buba Executive Director FERMA, Hon. ND Shehu SLA to Sen. Hezekiah Dimka, Hon. Dayyabu Garga Plateau State Commissioner of Urban Development & other dignitaries.
