“God created the family, and children are a gift from Him. In fact, the Bible in Psalm 127:3 says that offspring are a reward from Him! Because of this, God cares about how children are raised and nurtured.”
Rep. Simon Mwadkwon, Ph.D is celebrating Children in Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency, Plateau State and Nigeria in general on the occasion of the 2020 Children Day’s Celebration.
Dr. Mwadkwon posited that Children’s Day is not only to celebrate children, but also to sensitize the world to some of the challenges and abuses children face daily across the globe.
The Federal Lawmaker said some of these challenges and abuses come in form of denial of quality education, exploitation, boy/girl child discrimination, killing/maiming, abduction/kidnapping, attacks on schools/hospitals, child prostitution and pornography, not allowing humanitarian access to children, among others.
The Legislators admonished parents and members of the society to give attention to supporting, training and mentoring Children to attain greatness and achieve their full potentials.
He said children are special set of persons who should be monitored closely describing them as persons with multidimensional talents, gifts and potential which must be harnessed for societal wellbeing in order not to go astray and become menace to the society.
He urged parents not to fail in their parental responsibilities toward the children because they will be held accountable by God, saying they should be pray for their children and use positive words not negative or foul languages on them.
“Education and vocational trainings should be given to the children in order to build their capacities strategically so they will be useful to themselves and society at large in the future” he said.
The Legislator promised to give children greater attention in terms of his legislative engagement and blueprint implementation.
He wished them happy celebration and prayed God to continue to guide & protect them.
