Cancellation of Prince Charles Visit to Jos – Emmanuel Macham Fires Shots at Joe Lengs.

As reactions continue to trail the cancellation of the proposed visit to Jos by Prince Charles of Wales, a former aide to Senator David Jang, Hon. Emmanuel Macham has reacted to the statement credited to Mr. Joseph Lengmang the Director General of Plateau Peace and Conflict Bureau.

Hon. Macham questioned the hypocritical statement of Mr. Joseph Lengmang, stating that the blame for what happened lies with Governor Lalong and not citizens of the State as alleged by Joseph Lengmang.

According to Macham, nobody has demarket Plateau State like Governor Lalong through his public utterances. He said, it will be recalled that it is Governor Lalong through the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) who stated that elections should not be held in certain parts of the State including the Jos township on account of security challenges. It is the same Governor Lalong that in the wake of the discovery of the corpse of General Alkali told the whole world that religious and traditional rulers in the State were contributing to the worsening insecurity by shielding criminals.

Joseph Lengmang instead of lamenting and wrongly alleging that Plateau people are sending the wrong message about the State to the public through their commentaries should rather caution Governor Lalong from making indicting views about his State simply because he is trying to please and court a section of the Northern part of Nigeria.

Hon. Macham concluded by calling for a non partisan security summit to be held with a view of charting a positive direction for the State and not the current blame game ongoing.
