The Nigeria’s Senate has assented to a bill by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR that seeks to amend the National Minimum Wage Act, 2019, to increase the National Minimum Wage from N30,000 upward to the sum of N70,000.
The Red Chamber also approved the National Minimum Wage Review Period from 5 Years to 3 Years.
The National Minimum Wage Bill was assented to by the Senate after the 3rd Reading.
It will be recalled that Nigeria’s President, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday 18th July, 2024 approved a National Minimum Wage of Seventy Thousand Naira only with a 3-year review period which was accepted by the National Labour and Trade Union Leaders.
