National Leader of the Ruling Party, All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Executive Governor of Lagos State from 1999-2007, Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu has won the APC Presidential Primaries which stated 6th June, 2022 at the Eagle Square, Abuja.
Sen. Tinubu Pulled 1,271 votes to defeat other 13 Presidential Aspirants who took part in the Special Convention.
A total of 2,322 Delegates were to participate in the Primaries out of which 2,303 were accredited and voted.
Following the winner was Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi who scored 316 Votes, Sen. Ahmed Sani who got 4 votes, Gov. Dave Umahi scored 38 Votes, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo pulls 235 Votes and Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi State who pulled 47 votes.
Others are Dr. Christopher Onu who got a vote, Senate President Ahmed Lawan who pulled 152 votes, Hon. Ogbonnaya Onu who got a vote and Prof. Ben Ayade of Cross River State who pulled 37 Votes.
It will be recalled that Gov. Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, Gov. Ibikunle Amosun, Hon. Borofice, Gov. Mohammed Badaru, Rt. Hon. Dimeji Bankole and the only female Presidential Aspirant Barr. Uju Ken Ohanenye all stepped down for Sen. Bola Tinubu before the commencement of the elections.
