Youths in Ampang west district of Mangu local government area had on Friday 12 June 2020 razed down their community police station over the detention of an alleged suspect by policemen who is said to have snatched the manhood of another and the youths are demanding for his release for them to punish him their own way. Eye witness told Viewpoint correspondent Kevin Naanjwan that the young man confessed to the crime but he is yet to return the manhood as of the time of filling this report.
House member representing Mangu south in the Plateau state house of assembly and chairman house committee on public account and petition Hon (Dr) Bala N. Fwangje was on Saturday at Ampang west in company of some concern members of his constituency to see for himself what had happened and ascertain the level of damage done on the police station. Hon. Bala condemn the incident in totality saying the act is uncalled for and there are several ways of solving issues amicably without the use of violence urging the youths not to take laws into their hands and not to repeat such act which can easily spark up violence not only in their community but the LGA at large. The youth leader alongside other youths in the community have been arrested in connection to destroying the police station and the accused is currently in police custody in Jos.
