Breaking: Group of herdsmen terrorising Irigwe people in Bassa LGA arrested today

A group of herdsmen allegedly responsible for the unending orgy of killings in Bassa LGA have been arrested in Jebbu-Miango by Irigwe youths.

The youths who laid in wait on the attackers were said to have accosted them in two different locations and irked out confessions. Ahead of releasing them to security agencies, the youths have called on Journalists to witness the hand over.

Some of them were said to be responsible for Monday’s attack where three youths were killed in Chongu village (with one beheaded).

The three who were killed were reported to have been returning from a mining site in Gyero when they were attacked. Sunday Samson, the only survivor told our reporter that two of the victims were killed with the rapid fire of AK-47s while the third was matcheted to death.

At the time of filing this report, the Irigwe Development Association was in a press statement at the STF head quarters, briefing the force about the capture -ahead of releasing them to the STF.
