The body of the late Senator Gyang Nyam Shom Pwajok, who died in an Indian hospital following complications from Hepatocellular Carcinoma, on Wednesday arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
Pwajok’s body arrived on aboard an Emirate Airline flight.
It was received by a former Governor of Plateau State and Senator representing Plateau North Senatorial District, Jonah Jang; Senator Joshua Dariyel and retired Lieutenant General Jeremiah Useni amid tears and emotion by a large crowd who had thronged the international wing of the airport to receive the body.
The Eagle Online reports that prayers were offered at the airport before the body left for Jos, the Plateau State capital.
The family is yet to announce the date of the burial of the late senator, who contested the April 11, 2015 gubernatorial election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
He died on October 28, 2015 at the age of 49.
