The calendar of events for the 2019 Nzem Berom has been released.
A press statement by the Chairman, Media and Publicity sub committee of the festival, Dr Daniel Kim indicates that, on Friday 10th May 2019, there will be Jumaat prayers for our Berom Muslim brothers to hold at selected mosques in Jos, Bukuru, Barkin Ladi and Aboro, Sanga LGA of Kaduna State, starting from 1pm.
Sunday 12th May, Christian Prayers to hold at Church of Immaculate Conception, Zaramaganda, Jos by 2pm.
Tuesday 14th May, a Symposium titled ‘The Development Question and The Burden of History’ scheduled for Langfield Leisure Park, Rayfield from 3pm.
Wednesday 15th May 2019, Women’s Special Day and Yong dyara also yo hold at Langfield Leisure park by 2pm, which will be followed by the Zere Berom Beauty Pageant and fashion show, starting 4pm at the same venue.
Thursday 16th May, Royal Banquet and welcome dinner at Gbong Gwom Jos Palace.
The grand finale comes up on Friday 17th May which starts with the Royal procession from the Palace of the Gbong Gwom Jos to the Rwang Pam Township stadium by 8am, followed by thw Nzem Berom grand festival which will feature traditional dances, unveiling of the exotic and rich Berom kitchen, honouring and celebrating of illustrious sons and daughters who have distinguished themselves in different fields, exhibition of artefacts and inventions showcasing the vast potentials of the Berom people.
The occasion is expected to be chaired by the Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, Chairlady, Brig. Gen. Florence Dung Gyang, Special Guest, Rt. Honorable Barrister Simon Bako Lalong, Executive Governor of Plateau State, other expected dignitaries are Barrister Solomon Dalung, Minister, Sports and Youth Development, Governors, Traditional Rulers Chief Executives of Ministries, Departments, Agencies and people from all works of life.
To climax the entire event, Langfield Leisure Park will host dignitaries to a music concert featuring Berom artistes.
The Nzem Berom 2019 Planning Committee is enjoining all Berom at home and in diaspora as well as all Nigerians attend this historic event.
