In order to alleviate the hardship arising from lack of food by Students of Plateau State School for the Deaf Bassa LGA Plateau State, a Nongovernmental Organization, Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre Jos has donated food items to the High School.
While donating the food items, the Executive Director of the Centre, Chief Ayuba Gufwan said the gesture is borne out of the desire of the Centre to ameliorate the hardship being faced by the Students and to address their immediate welfare need (food) having visited the School within the Week and noticed the lack of food which informed the urgent intervention.
Chief Ayuba Burki commended the Staff and students for putting up excellent academic performance in 2021 session and charged them to sustain the tempo with greater improvement.

He urged the students to develop themselves in order to achieve their full potentials.
He stressed that with over 13 million out of school children, it is pertinent for them to take their studies seriously so they can be useful to themselves and Nation.
He called on government at all levels and spirited individuals to intervene in order to assist the welfare needs of the Students so that they don’t drop out of school and become a menace to the society.
He urged them to make effective use of the practical skills they are being taught by a group in the School aimed at impacting their lives.
He called on the senior students not to bully and molest the younger ones but embrace and treat them as their siblings.
He said the Centre will continue to intervene in the area of need of the School.
Vice Principal of the School, Mrs. Mary Jambaleng while receiving the food items on behalf of the management of the School lauded the Centre for the humanitarian intervention and for always being there to address the food challenges being faced. She thanked God for using Beautiful Gate Centre to impact humanity and the society.
Inspector with the Education Area Directorate Bassa LGA, Mrs Esther Nandang lauded the humanitarian gesture and thanked the Executive Director of the Centre for yielding himself to be used by God to be a blessing to mankind.
Head girl, Nantagam Timothy and the Head Boy, Sylvanus Awullo who spoke through an Interpreter and could not hide their joy in their separate remarks appreciated the Centre for identifying with them in their most trying moment and prayed God to continue to provide to the Centre so it can reach more people in dire need of such interventions.
Items donated were 7 bags of Beans, 22 bags of Maize, 10 bags ofillet, 8 bags of Rice, 5 bags of Garri and 6 kegs of Palm Oil.
