Beautiful Gate Centre Jos Donates Relief Materials to Displaced Persons in Miango Bassa LGA, Plateau State

In its effort to give hope and provide succour to the internally displaced persons especially persons living with disabilities, the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre Jos took relief materials to Miango in Bassa LGA following the attacks, killings and destruction of property including farm crops by terrorists which engulfed the area recently.

Delivering the items at the Palace of the Brra Nggwe Rigwe, the Executive Director of Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre Jos, Chief Ayuba Gufwan said the purpose of the visit was to identify and empathize with the Irigwe Nation over the unprovoked attacks that killed scores, rendering many homeless and unquantified properties destroyed by criminal elements as well as assist them with relief materials to reduced the hardships being faced by the people. He condemned the attacks, killings and wanton destruction of property including farm crops by the attackers.

He disclosed that the Centre deemed it fit to donate relief materials on account of the humanitarian crisis confronting the people saying the intervention is aimed at cushioning the impact of the challenges being faced by the people.
He further stressed that the objective of the centre is to intervene in the cases of persons with disabilities to help them overcome their disabilities and adjust with their conditions in order to live meaningful and productive lives.

He said people with disabilities are worst hit and most affected in any crisis situation owing to their predicament.
He hinted that the centre has produced and donated mass mobility appliance to encourage enrollment of persons with disabilities to School to acquire sound and quality education so they can be useful to themselves, their families and the society at large.

He admonished the people not to give up but draw closer to God and remain vigilant to overcome the ugly situation.

Chief Ayuba called on government at all levels to reach out to the people with humanitarian interventions, live up to its constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property and charged the security agencies to be more proactive to stem future attacks.
He prayed God to comfort the people.

HRH Rev. Ronku Aka, the Brra Nggwe Rigwe who was represented by the District Head of Kwall, HRH Hala Biti who received the items appreciated the donor for identifying with the people by providing the relief materials saying the gesture will alleviate the sufferings of the people.

In their separate remarks, the President Irigwe Development Association (IDA), Prince Robert Rigye, the Woman Leader Mrs Caroline Ngwedu, National President Irigwe Youth Movement (IYM) Cmr. Peter Bini commended the Centre for the timely humanitarian intervention to the displaced persons.
They also appreciated the Centre for always being supportive to the Irigwe Nation.

The items donated were; 15 bags of Garri, 10 bags of maize, 7 bags of rice, 5 bags of beans, 5 Jerry Cans of palm oil, 10 bags of Irish Potatoes, 1 bale of blankets containing 65 pieces, 1 bale of mats containing 50 pieces, 20 rolls of soft tissue papers, 2 bags of Sugar, 10 cartons of bathing soaps, 5 cartons of washing soaps, 10 bags of detergents, 10 cartons of toothpaste, 4 cartons of big Vaseline, 25 cartons of supreme noodles, 10 dozens of buckets and 10 dozens of cups.
