In order to alleviate the challenges of Displaced Widows in Riyom, Barkin Ladi and Bokkos LGA, the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre Jos shared fertilizers to widows, orphans and other less privileged who lost their bread winner in violent crisis that affected the areas.
Executive Director of the Centre, Chief Ayuba Burki Gufwan said the essence of the gesture is to identify with the target persons who are facing challenges due to the killings of their bread winners and destruction of their property in some cases.
Chief Gufwan admonished them to hand over their ugly predicament to God and be prayerful. He charged them to be agents of peace and harmonious living.
He said in whatever situation we found ourselves, we should thank God. He posited that during the lockdown, the Centre distributed palliatives to people living with disabilities who are its main target, but deemed it fit to reach out and identify with them in empathy with fertilizers for the farming season.
In all the Areas visited, he said the centre will continue to visit the communities and see ways it can assist them in the future.
He prayed for better yield and urged the people to remain positive in life.
The Management Committee Chairman of Riyom LGC, Hon. Mafeng Gwallson who was accompanied by his Wife, some Management Staff and Appointees lauded the humanitarian gesture of the Centre and charged the people to put the farm input to effective use.
He said his administration will continue to give greater attention to agriculture and donated 20 Bags of fertilizers to the Centre for distribution to the widows.
In his remark, the Member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency who was represented by Da Stephen Jugu appreciated the Centre for the impact it is making. He said indeed the gate is indeed beautiful.
He said govt should give attention to the humanitarian plights of the people in areas affected by crisis.
The Councillor Jol Ward, Hon. Joshua Adams Bisha after appreciating the Centre said a successful life is measured by one’s positive impact.
Gwom Jol Riyom LGA HRH Da Danladi Taje, Gwom Sho B/Ladi LGA HRH Da Yohanna Chumang and Ciroma Simon Mashat of Kwatas Bokkos in their separate remarks commended the Centre for their humanitarian interventions to their domains.
Widows/orphans in the affected areas who could not hide their joy appreciated the Centre and said life has not been easy since they lost their bread winners.
They prayed for open doors to the centre so it can impact humanity and the society the more.
180 Widows/Orphans benefitted the humanitarian gesture of the centre.
It will be recalled that the Centre has distributed fertilizers to Mangu and Bassa LGAs.
