Barr. Ezekiel Mandyau Promises to Focus on Fighting Poverty and Illiteracy as He Completes Tour of Districts

The Management Committee Chairman Barkin Ladi Local Government Council, Hon. Barr. Ezekiel Mandyau has vowed to give utmost attention to fighting poverty and illiteracy in the Local which he described as enemies of peace, unity, growth and progress.

Barr. Mandyau called on the people to embrace and promote peace saying there is no alternative to peace.
He said much could be attained in a peaceful society while no meaningful development can be achieved in a rancorous, violent and hostile environment.

He appreciated the people for the monumental supports accorded him all through his two-day tour of the 5 Districts in the Local Government Area.

The Tour which is aimed at interfacing with the people and knowing their problems with the aim of addressing same today started at Ropp District to Fan District from where the entourage touched Foron District and completed the tour in Heipang District.

In all the District visited, the Management Committee Chairman appreciated the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Simon Lalong for the opportunity given him to contribute his quota to the growth and development of Barkin Ladi LGA as well as the cooperation he is enjoying with the Governor so far.

Barr. Mandyau said though the challenges confronting the area are enormous, he is optimistic and positive of overcoming them.

He said all projects to be executed under his administration will be those that are top priority to the people.

He promised to run an all-inclusive administration carrying everyone along irrespective of political, religious and ethnic inclinations.

Barr. Mandyau said his agenda are: Peace and security, infrastructural development and critical empowerment.

He said having listened to the needs the people, he will work towards addressing them in line with his capacity and push for those that needs State or Federal interventions.
He also promised to partner with progressive persons and groups for the growth and progress of the area.

He commended the security agents and the people for their peace building efforts.

“I am committed to eradicating poverty and illiteracy” he concluded.

The District Heads, Elders, women and youths who spoke applauded him for the well thought tour and commended his leadership qualities demonstrated by him so far.
They said having known him as a man of integrity, honesty and fear of God, they are sure a new dawn has come to Barkin Ladi LGA.
They admonished him to remain steadfast, focus and visionary.

In his entourage were his Secretary Hon. Capt.(Rtr) Rwang Pam Dusu, Hon. Benjamin Chollom Leader B/Ladi LGC Legislative Arm, other Councillors, Supervisory Councillors, Top Management Staff of the Council, Heads of Security Agencies from the Area, Party stalwart, Youths, women, Elders and elites from the Districts visited.
