Barr. Auwal Abdullahi, ES Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Assure Citizens of Pursuing Board’s Mandate With Integrity

The Executive Secretary of Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Barr. Auwal Abdullahi has assured the citizens of the State of the Board’s Commitment to pursue its mandate with integrity, transparency and fear of God as it continue to serve humanity and the State.

Barr. Auwal said the Board will continue to work assiduously towards meeting its set vision of organizing and accompanying intending Pilgrims of Plateau State to the Holy Land (Saudi Arabia) for the Hajj Exercise.

The Executive Secretary dropped the hint when he played host to the delegation of the Plateau State Bloggers and Online Media Association who were in his office on familiarization visit.

He attributed the successes being recorded by the Board to the Teamwork exhibited by the management and staff of the Board as well as the supports accorded it by the Executive Governor of Plateau State.

The Executive Secretary described the Media as the forth estate of the realm considering its importance to nation building and societal transformation.


“Media is the segment that may make or mar any Country because the power of the pen is greater than the power of the guns”

“With your intellect and a pen you can be in the corner of your room and write a destiny that can change the whole world positively” he said.

He appreciated the group for the visit and the critical roles they are playing in changing the narratives and building peace through objective reportage.
He urged them not to compromise professionalism in their engagements as they have greater roles to play in the society as role models to the society.
He said they can transform the society from good to better and from better to the best.
He posited that the bad Press and clergies are responsible for most of the crisis bedeviling the World.

He said the Board and the group will synergize for the common good of the Board, State and Nation at large.

He said the Board was able to refund the sum of N18 million for services not rendered (especially transportation, accommodation, feeding, etc) at the Holy Land to 1,198 Pilgrims in 2018/2019.
Each Pilgrim got N11,600 as refund after the exercise.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the group, Cmr. Friday Bako congratulated the Executive Secretary over his reappointment and said that feat is an attestation of his sterling and outstanding leadership.
He said the group were there to familiarize with the management and seek for better ways of synergy.

He lauded the Executive Secretary for the uncommon feat of making the refunds of millions of Naira to the coffers of government after the 2018 hajj operation, a feat he said is exceptional.

He described the Executive Secretary as a man of impeccable character, integrity and capacity who will take the Board to enviable height.
