The Plateau state police command on Tuesday said it has discovered arms and improvised Explosive Devices (IED) in an undisclosed suburban location of the state capital Jos.

State Police Commissioner, Mr Chris Olakpe while briefing newsmen in his office stated that concerned members of the public hinted the police who swung into action and stormed the hideout. He said that the explosives were set to detonate with enormous casualties.

Olakpe stated that the police will soon embark on a house to house search for arms and ammunition in troubled areas of the state. He bemoaned the way illegal arms were proliferating within the youths in the state while saying it could be catastrophic if not checked.
