Education has often been regarded as the key and future of every Nation but little or no effort has been made either by the government or individuals in ensuring that the right people get education at the right time.
But the narrative is being changed in Mangu local government area of Plateau state when a vibrant youth, architect Samuel Longkat Bentu decided to give out scholarship worth millions of naira to secondary school graduates in his Constituency in Mangu north east comprising of Gindri, Panyam and Pushit in collaboration with an NGO named AP Usman foundation in Jos.
Architect Longkat Bentu visited all the three chiefdoms in Mangu north east as he gives out the schorlaship form to beneficiaries in the palace of the District rulers of the chiefdoms.
He first visited the Hakimin Gindri’s palace where he was received by HRH ALH. Tanko Umaru Adamu where he made with the beneficiaries and handed over the schorlaship forms to them. HRH. Tanko Umaru express his gratitude to architect Longkat Bentu for this kind gesture praying for God blessings upon his life.

In Pushit he was also recieved by the District head HRH. Da Diket J. Gupiya, the Mwagahvul Dev. Association (MDA) and the Mwagahvul Youth movement (MYM) excos at the palace. HRH Da Diket Gupiya also shows his appreciation to this act of kindness praying for God’s favour and blessings.

The mishkagham Panyam HRH. Engr. Aminu Deruwam can not hide his joy as well as he appreciate and bless Longkat Bentu for this kind gesture towards his people praying for God blessings upon his life.

Speaking to Viewpoint in an interview what is the motivation behind the schorlaship and why the choice of Mangu north east instead of the Mangu LGA as a whole architect Samuel Longkat Bentu replied;
“The motive behind it is love, from where I am coming from education was not easy to get, I grew up in a location where education is something children always wanted but faced with the issue of tuition so I grew up having this in my mind thinking of possible ways to help” On why the selection on Mangu north east he added “Well there is this saying that charity begins at home that is just the reason behind starting it, I have to go back to my Constituency that is Mangu north east which is Gindri, Panyam and Pushit over time we are goi g to see how we will expand to other areas.
The students who meet the requirements will be admitted into ICON University Benie Republic and tuition fee of the students is 250 thousand naira per year which architect Samuel Longkat Bentu will take care of it in collaboration with the A. P Usman foundation for the period of four years while the students will take care of accommodation of 150 thousand naira for the first year then for other years of study they will pay 70 thousand naira only.
Speaking the Director of A. P Usman foundation Mr. Godwin Etim assured the students that they don’t need to worry about anything as there is a mutual agreement and understanding between their foundation and ICON university Benie Republic and assured them of every single support.
Architect Samuel Longkat Bentu is also a pastor with Truth Embassy Global, he hails from Panyam district of Mangu Local government of Plateau state.
