Anaguta Nation Holds Tukuntu Festival 2018, Displays Rich Culture

It was the display of rich culture, customes and cuisineThe Anaguta Nation in Plateau State today 19th May, 2018 held its Cultural Festival known as “Tukuntu Festival”

The festival was well attended by illustrious sons, daughters, traditional, religious, political and academic leaders of the Anaguta Nation at home and in the diaspora.

The event held at Rwang Pam Township Stadium Jos, Plateau State.

The Ujah Anaguta, HRH Jauro Magaji received a great welcome by his subject on arrival.
He was led to his seat by warriors and all District heads paid him homage.

Chairman of the occasion, Rep. Barr. I. D. Gyang member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency thanked the Ujah Anaguta for finding him worthy to Chair an epoch making event as such.
Barr. I. D. Gyang in his remark said the Anaguta are peaceful, friendly, caring and hospitable contributed who have sacrificed a lot following the modernization and expansion of the city capital as well as fought for the unity of the capital city, Jos. He said the Anaguta Nation has made remarkable and positive impacts to Jos North, Plateau State and Nigeria, feats they must work to sustain. He said they are key players in peace and development of Plateau State.

He said they are people placed strategically by God in Jos North and must take full advantage of that.

Barr. I. D. Gyang challenged the Anaguta to rise up and unite to overcome their demographic challenges as well as remain relevant in all ramifications. He proffered solution to the demographic challenge of ethnic minorities to include procreation and called on the people to ensure they give birth to at least 5 Children each.

He advocated for the establishment of a Host Community Fund by Government to address the challenge of urbanization in Jos, Plateau State. He said such funds if established should be used to establish host communities.

He said host communities have contributed immensely to national development hence the need to be considered for such gesture.

He charged the Anaguta to work hard to ensure an Anaguta man emerge the Jos North Local Government Chairman in the forthcoming Council Polls.

Rep. I. D. Gyang admonished the people to continue to pray for the Senator representing Plateau North and elder Statesman, Da Sen. Jonah Jang to emerge stronger and better from the present predicament.

Barr. I. D. Gyang said he is ready to be part of the solution to the challenges the Anaguta Nation is facing. He also contributed generously to the Building project to be embarked upon by the Anaguta Nation.

Chairlady of the day, Prof (Mrs) Rahila Gowon charged the Anaguta Nation to give attention to the education needs of their youths. She said a special funds should be created by the Anaguta Nation where scholarship could be disbursed to youths and uplifting the health needs of the people. She charged the Anaguta Nation to remain united and peaceful.

Sen. J. T. Useini who was represented by Prof. Mailafiya said the Anaguta Nation have been playing roles in the development of Plateau State.

A PDP Governorship Aspirant, Mr. Yitman Maimako charged the Anaguta Nation to continue to be peaceful and contribute their quota to nation building. He said they should continue to pray for the peace and development of Plateau State and Nation at large.

Sen. Dariye who was represented by Prof. Danladi Atu commended the Anaguta Nation for the immense contributions to Jos North and Plateau State. He charged them to sustain that.

The Emir of Keffi who was represented admonished the Anaguta people to continue to promote peaceful coexistence.

Representative of the Gbong Gwom Jos, Rev. Dr. Isaac Azi, the Agwom Izere said the Anaguta Nation remain catalyst in peace building and even development.

The Ujah Anaguta, His Royal Highness Jauro Magaji thanked all for gracing the occasion and tasked the people on unity. He said without unity no development and progress would be recorded.

There were cultural dances and guests were treated to local cuisines.
