CALL ON GOMBE STATE GOVERNOR, ALH. MUHAMMADU INUWA YAHAYA TO ADHERE TO THE PEOPLE’S WISH AND DECLARE THE RESULT OF THE MAI TANGALE STOOL.

Following the smooth, successful and hitch free selection process of the Mai Tangale stool by the Tangale Traditional Council who are the Kingmakers, we view the delay in declaring the result by the Executive Governor of the State, His Excellency Alh. Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, was what built tension which culminated into crisis in Biliri Local Government Area of the State.

We keenly followed the the long but unpromising and empty speech of the governor to his people, reassuring nothing but only asserting and reaffirming his constitutional power as the helmsman to impose whoever he wants among the three candidates as the Mai Tangale.

It is this kind of posture of “am the boss, am fully in charge” that has thrown the once peaceful state into this chaotic situation.

It is obvious that the crisis would have been avoided, if the State Governor had done what is expected of him by announcing the the RIGHTFUL Mai Tangale in line with the submission of the Kingmakers which is the true reflection of the wishes and aspirations of the people on whom to lead and serve them.

This crisis as we have earlier mentioned was avoidable if not for the negligence and lack of due diligence by those at the helm of affairs to be fair and just.

As a peace loving group, we want to reiterate our call on the Governor to as a matter of expediency, announce the Mai Tangale as submitted by the Tangale Traditional Council without suppressing the will of the majority of the people, this is the only way to douse tension and heal wounds.

We have heard the Again the governor said in his text, that he is on wide consultation on the Mai Tangale stool which is an obvious indication that he has hidden to subvert the will of the people.

What type of consultation? Who and who is he consulting? What is the essence of consultations after the king makers have spoken with their voices? We suspect something sinister.

Let it be on record that, the Governor will be held accountable for further violence or bloodshed which this issue may generate.

We call on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to wade in before it is too late.
