Amb. John Pofi Demands that Zamfara Governor Name Those Behind Kidnappings or Resign

The National Coordinator of Prayer Force Network (PFN), Amb. John Pofi (JP) has called on the Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Muhammad Matawalle to expose those behind kidnappings or resign his office.

Amb. Pofi said over the years, the total collapse of the security architecture in Nigeria has taken different dimensions, some pathetic, some precarious and some even dramatic.

“If you don’t tell Nigerians the names and if you don’t resign, Nigerians will be left with no option but to conclude that your name forms part of the list of those terrorising Nigerians” he said.

He decried how elder Statesmen who are expected to play vital roles in fighting insecurity keep hoarding sensitive intelligence information at their disposal needed to nib in the Bud the insecurity bedevilling the Country, a situation he described as worrisome and unpatriotic.

Below is his message to Zamfara State Governor;

AMB JOHN POFI TO GOVERNOR OF ZAMFARA STATE; NAME THOSE BEHIND KIDNAPPINGS OR RESIGN.

Over the years, the total collapse of the security architecture in Nigeria has taken different dimensions, some pathetic, some precarious and some even dramatic.

I remember at some points, till today elder statesmen do make dangerous, despairing and in some cases laughable comments on what the citizens should do or expect as the situation deteriorates.

I remember an elder statesman once said, “if I open my mouth, no body will sleep in Nigeria.” Another one once said ” some sitting governors are sponsoring Boko Haram.” These are few out of the numerous comments that drew national attention but as usual, you don’t get to hear anything few days after every hullabaloo.

Well, one of the most recent statements was credited to the governor of Zamfara State, Bello Muhammad Matawalle after the purported abduction and the arrangee release of the Jangebe school girls, the governor was quoted to have said, ” if the names of those that are behind the abductions in my state are unveiled, Nigerians will be shocked.”

What is shocking about the list? Are they not Nigerians? Is there anything shocking to the poor man who has seen his family members, kinsmen and neighbours being maimed, killed and slaughtered daily? Will there be anything more shocking that telling the peasant farmers to take permission from the army before going to the farm? What will be more shocking than the harsh economic realities staring Nigerians in the face with increase of price of premium motor spirit monthly? What could be more shocking that most northern states have closed all government boarding schools? What is shocking about shocking in this case?.

Mr. Governor Sir, there is nothing again that will shock Nigerians, like the Hausa proverb which says, ” wani dare ne jamage bai gani ba?.” Meaning, what type of darkness that the bat has not seen?

Mr. Governor, please tell us the names, we need to know, may be after the revelation, the incessant kidnapping which is fast becoming a child’s play will come to an end.

As a governor, you don’t owe anybody any apology by telling the whole world those behind the charade in northern Nigeria. Why are you hiding the names and whose interest are you protecting for not revealing the names of the evil people?

If you cannot tell us the names, please kindly resign because you are not worth the name “governor.”

If you don’t tell Nigerians the names and if you don’t resign, Nigerians will be left with no option but to conclude that your name forms part of the list of those terrorising Nigerians.

A word, they say is enough for the wise.
