Amb. Chris Giwa decamps to PDP from APGA, Received by Thousands of Supporters Across Plateau State

Amb. Chris Giwa, a great Philanthropist, Business Mogul, grassroot Politician, the Chairman/CEO of Giwa Football Club of Jos and President/CEO of Chris Giwa Foundation officially decamped from All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today 22nd June, 2017.

Amb. Chris Giwa was an Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) Candidate in 2011 Governorship Election and APGA Senatorial Candidate in the 2012 rerun following the demise of Late Sen. Dr. Gyang Datong.

Amb. Chris Giwa was officially received by thousand of PDP stakeholders and supporters and was later officially issued his PDP membership card at his PDP Kuru “B” Ward Office in Dakwak, Kuru District of Jos South LGA after which the Jos South Local Government PDP supporters received him at the Party Office situated at Bwandang, Jos South LGA.

Former Governor of Plateau State and Senator representing Plateau Northern Senatorial Zone who spoke at the event said there will be no imposition of candidates against the wishes of the people in the Party. He said popular candidates will emerge through a credible primaries and posited that the party is more united and ready to regain its lost glory both in Plateau State and Aso Rock come 2019 starting from the forthcoming Local Government Elections. Sen. Jonah Jang said he sympathize with those decamping to APC, because APC is an already failed party and said they will soon regret their actions.

Plateau State PDP Chairman, Hon. Damishi Sango applauded the wisdom and resolve of Amb. Chris Giwa in joining the PDP. He said the people are stronger and powerful than those elected and said the party belongs to the people.

Amb. Chris Giwa who was visibly happy commenced his speech with a song thanked God for a day like this which he said means so much to his life and see it as a spiritual battle but God has intervened. He said the decision he took to join PDP through God was not his making but indeed God’s doing. He said it is not about courage but about the Will of God. He extols the great leadership qualities of Senator Jonah David Jang and has been his admirer from afar. He said there is time for everything under the Sun and this is the time God has designed for him to unite and associate himself with living, courageous and purposeful people.

He further said he is not in PDP to contest for election or compete with anybody but his mission in PDP is to work for the success of PDP and ensure that Plateau Government House is taken over by PDP come 2019 and see the event as not just ordinary but a spiritual one. He further said he is not a weak, lazy man and no matter how he is threatened he will not surrender. He said he will face and fight anyone that tries to intimidate him as no man born of a woman can intimidate him. He said he is not afraid or scared of any person born of a woman. He said he is PDP to join his faith and courage together with PDP people and nobody can be intimidated. He repeatedly said Plateau State is a PDP State and members should leave the past behind to forge ahead.

Amb. Giwa was accompanied by his lovely wife, Mrs. Joyce Giwa.

There were cultural displays at the event and was the most attended in the history of Plateau State since full return to democracy.

The reception of the event which took place at Langfield Leisure Resort Little Rayfield Jos, Plateau State witnessed the presence of thousands of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters across the 17 Local Government Area of Plateau State including Stakeholders, Senators, Members of House of Representatives, State House of Assembly Members and many more.
