Alex Isaac Dagul “Pounds & Dollars” Wins Zawan ‘B’ PDP Councillorship Primaries

Cmr. Alex Isaac Dagul popularly known as “Pounds & Dollars” has emerged the Councillorship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Zawan ‘B’ Ward Jos South Local Government Area, Plateau State in a keenly contested Primaries that held on 13th August, 2024 at RCM Primary School Zarmaganda Jos South LGA.

While one of the three Contestants for the position, Mr. Rapheal Chuhwak stepped down few hours to the Primary Election, the Winner Cmr. Alex Isaac and Mr. Aslem Dalyop slugged it out. Alex Isaac secured 427 Votes of the delegates who participated in the Election thereby defeating his closest opponent, Aslem Dalyop who pulled 331 Votes.

In his acceptance note, the Winner Alex Isaac Dagul appreciated Members of the PDP who participated in the voting process and for electing him as their flag-bearer. He thanked them for believing in his vision and taking time to exercise their franchise in the Primary election saying their votes are testament to the power of democracy and the desire for positive change.

He promised not to betray the trust and confidence reposed in him but to run an all-inclusive campaign so that the Party can emerge victorious during the general election.

He lauded the passion and commitment of other Aspirants who contested with him to the progress of Zawan ‘B” Ward. He said though the Primaries have ended with him emerging as the Flag-bearer, he is optimistic that their shared goal of a better Zawan ‘B’ Ward will be attained.

In his words “we look forward to working together, combining our strengths and ideas to achieve our common goal. Let us unite, putting aside political differences to drive development and prosperity for our People. Together, we can make a meaningful impact”

He ascribed the victory to God Almighty and the People who believe in him and his vision for the Ward.

He assured the People of the Ward of his readiness and commitment to provide credible representation and exceptional leadership that would attract development and build the capacities of the People if elected as the Councilor in the Main election.

“I have been with the People all my life and I understand their needs, if I am elected, my vision is to work towards the actualization of a better Zawan ‘B’ Ward where development is attracted and people are positively impacted. I have been involved in Community services all through my life and I am still doing that as a Member of the Red Cross Society in Jos South Local Government Area. I am driven by the passion to serve and provide sound representation to bring development and other dividends of democracy closer to the People. As you are all aware, my Ward is Cosmopolitan and I will continue what I have started, and that is uniting the People through deliberate efforts for progress and sustainable development. I want to call on the good People of my Ward, Local Government and State as a whole to continue to give Governor Caleb Mutfwang the need support to succeed in his efforts to achieve a more united, peaceful and prosperous State for the Citizens” he concluded.
