Governor Umaru Tanko Almakura of Nasarawa state, on Tuesday evening came to the rescue of 3 accident victims along Azuba  road in Lafia, the state capital as he volunteered his car to rush the victims to the hospital.

The governor who was on his way back from Abuja was forced to stop at the scene of the accident where a bus belonging to New Nyanya Transport Company with  registration number GL 333 SMK, Lagos,  somersaulted into the bush.

Al – Makura, who was pathetic over the ugly incident quickly directed that the victims be rushed to the hospital in his car for immediate medical attention,  he also ordered that their belongings be taken to the police station for safety.

Eye witnesses said the  accident which occurred around 6pm,  involved a 3 year old girl, her mother and two other people and it was as results of over speeding and overtaking by the driver of the bus.
Confirming the incident,  the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ismaila Numan, said the incident occurred as a result of reckless speed and dangerous overtaking. He appealed to motorists to always prevail on drivers of commercial buses to comply with traffic regulations and call them to order in cases of over speeding.

As at the time of filing this report no death was recorded.
