The Action Democratic Party (ADP) has described Nigeria’s Former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo as God’s Gift to Nigeria.

In a birthday message signed by its National Chairman, Engr. Yabagi Yusuf Sani, the party says Nigerians should be eternally thankful to God for giving them an Olusegun Obasanjo: A selfless, visionary and a quintessential patriot and statesman who, with divine guidance is today the undisputable architect and father of modern Nigerian nation, the war commander, who had the historic glory of receiving the Biafran surrender; the first military leader to voluntarily hand over power to a democratically elected civilian government in Africa and the 1st Nigerian former military leader to be later popularly elected as a civilian president.  On OBJ’s phenomenal trail are a galaxy of indelible footprints on the social, economic and political facets of the country that, indeed, Nigeria would not have been what it is today if Olusegun Obasanjo had not occurred and traversed this nation-state.
