We adopted Consensus to avoid crisis during Ward Congresses, says Plateau APC chairman.

The Chairman of the All Progressive Congress APC in Plateau State Hon. Letep Dabang has attributed the success of the Peaceful Ward Congresses held in the state as result of stakeholders resolved not to hold elective congress but the adoption of Consensus which was in line with the constitution of the party and the wishes and aspiration of the Party members.
Addressing Journalists at the APC Party Secretariat yesterday in Jos, Dabang said expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the APC members in the state and urged them to imbibe that spirit for the subsequent LGC and State Congress.
Hon. Dabang disclose that his office have not received any formal complaints or petition against the outcome of the congress, saying the state had a successful Congress because there was consensus based on the zoning arrangement of the Party.
According to him, based on the security challenges of the state it was a wise decision for the party to have agree for consensus not election as result of the security advised that led to the postponement of LGC elections in the state.
Dabang, further disclosed that in the APC constitution two options are stated for the conduct of Congress either elections or consensus and the guidelines was very clear on the two options.
Hon. Letep who is also a member of the National Advisory committee of the APC on Congresses said most of the states that had crisis was a result of not adhering to the guidelines of the Party constitution regarding Congress.
He described the ward congresses as family affair in Plateau State based on the adoption of zoning arrangement following the resolution of INEC on congresses.
