Yilwatda Inspects Akwanga–Jos Road, Declares Tinubu’s Projects Unbeatable Campaign Asset.. Reporter: D.M LONGGUL  lead Citizen reporter

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has declared that the massive infrastructure drive under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the ruling party’s most formidable scoreline heading into the 16th January 2027 Presidential elections, (exactly 75 days remaining) describing the tangible results on ground as living proof of “democracy in action.”

Prof. Yilwatda made this assertion on Friday, 31st October 2025, during an on-site inspection of the extensive construction work along the critical Akwanga–Jos road corridor.
The project forms a key nerve in the 1,400-kilometre  Superhighway, designed to link major cities in Nigeria’s Northern Region.

Speaking to newsmen onsite  along Jos-Akwanga  Road axis where heavy earthworks and high-durability rigid concrete pavements are being laid, Prof. Yilwatda framed the multi-billion-Naira highway not merely as civil engineering, but as a political covenant fulfilled by the Tinubu administration for the people of the North-Central.

Nentawe says ….
“This is democracy in action. When promises are made and visibly kept, you know governance is working for the people,” Yilwatda said. “For over five decades, since the days of the late J.D. Gomwalk around 1972, this corridor witnessed only piecemeal patching. Communities along the Nasarawa–Plateau axis rarely saw federal capital projects running into even ₦10 billion. Today, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has committed hundreds of billions of Naira to build an infrastructure asset designed to endure for over a century.”

The APC helmsman noted that this standard of delivery provides the party with an unassailable record ahead of the upcoming electoral battles. By deploying rigid pavement technology, the Federal Government has bypassed short-lived asphalt fixes in favour of generational legacy structures.

Briefing the APC Chairman during the tour, the project’s Equipment Coordinator, Mr. James Baba, confirmed that following directives from the Federal Ministry of Works, heavy machinery has been mass-mobilised to the Jos axis. He stated that contractor teams are pushing to deliver at least 10 kilometres of completed formation before Christmas, with another 30 kilometres slated for next year.

Prof. Yilwatda also emphasised that the highway goes beyond transport logistics, packing integrated security features such as continuous illumination, 24-hour intelligent surveillance cameras to monitor vehicle movement and track criminal networks, alongside dedicated police outpost stations and emergency trauma clinics.

“This road connects commerce, unites communities, secures transit, and protects lives,” Yilwatda maintained. “It is living proof of what the Renewed Hope agenda stands for, and it is precisely why Nigerians will continue to stand firmly behind President Tinubu.”
