Speaking during the inauguration, Governor Caleb Mutfwang emphasized that despite recent regional developments that might have prompted a postponement, the administration chose to proceed due to the paramount importance attached to governance.

With nine months remaining in the first term of his administration, the Governor stressed that government operations must run on a faster trajectory without losing momentum to political activities.

“We deem it necessary that we must re-engineer governance, especially as we prepare for elections. We want to ensure that no moment is lost because of politics,” Governor Mutfwang stated. “We are elected to serve the people, and we want to ensure that we maximize the opportunity left at our disposal.”

The Governor congratulated the new commissioners while clarifying that recent cabinet adjustments were made purely out of administrative necessity to enhance service delivery, rather than individual failure.

Governor Mutfwang announced an impending administrative overhaul across various ministries and public offices:

The Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) will issue new portfolio postings for cabinet members.

The Governor says, a major restructuring will affect multiple ministries and Permanent Secretaries to optimize government operations.

The Governor urged the newly sworn-in officials to give their best effort immediately upon assuming office to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of Plateau State.
