The Chairman of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Plateau State Branch, Anthony Garba, FCNA, has commended members of the Branch for distinguishing themselves in various national assignments, urging them to remain worthy ambassadors of both the Plateau State Branch and the accounting profession.
Garba gave the commendation during the Branch’s Monthly Congress Meeting held at the Yakubu Gowon Hall of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Headquarters in Jos, Plateau State.
He applauded the professionalism exhibited by members during national engagements and in their respective workplaces, encouraging them to continue adding value to the accounting profession, their organizations, and society at large.
The Branch Chairman also urged members to foster mutual respect, unity, and meaningful participation in activities aimed at strengthening the Branch. According to him, the meeting was specially hosted by the Branch Executives as a gesture of appreciation for the unwavering support members have shown since the current leadership assumed office.
Presenting the report of the Welfare Committee, Garba disclosed that financial members of the Branch would benefit from the welfare packages approved by the Association. He subsequently outlined the various welfare benefits available to eligible members, which were deliberated upon by the Congress.
Chairman of the Research, Workshop and Publications Committee, Dr. Emmanuel Idenyi Shaibu, presented the committee’s activities, noting that several impactful training programmes and workshops had been designed to enhance the professional capacities of members.
The Training Curriculum was unveiled by Dr. Ezekiel Daschen, who commended the Committee for their outstanding efforts.
Similarly, the Chairman of the Membership Mobilisation Committee, Isa Pam Yakubu, FCNA, and the Chairman of the Finance and Investment Committee, John Dayong, FCNA, presented interim reports on the progress of their respective committees.
The Branch’s Chairman, Anthony Garba commended all the committees for their dedication and hard work, stressing that the Plateau State Branch possesses abundant local expertise capable of delivering quality professional training and capacity-building programmes for members and other interested participants.
The Congress also featured a health talk delivered by a team from KEDI Health Care led by Onazi Monday, who urged members to prioritize their health through regular exercise, healthy eating habits, and proper personal hygiene.
Highlights of the meeting included the celebration of members born in the month of July, presentation of gifts to lucky dip winners, and the formal introduction of newly inducted members of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN).
