APC Primary Dispute: Hon. John Dafaan Storms Party Secretariat, Submits Petition to Appeal Committee

Dakwom Long’gul reports from JOS, NIGERIA

The internal friction following the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections in Plateau State intensified today, as the Member representing Mikang, Shendam, Quanpan Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. John Dafaan, officially submitted a petition to the party’s Appeal Committee.

The federal lawmaker arrived at the APC State Secretariat in Jos to formally lodge his grievances regarding the conduct and outcome of the party’s primary elections in his constituency.

Speaking to journalists immediately after submitting the documents, Hon. Dafaan expressed firm confidence in the internal dispute resolution mechanisms of the party. He noted that the submission of the petition is a vital democratic step toward addressing irregularities and ensuring that the mandate of the constituents is respected.

”We are law-abiding members of this great party, and that is why we have chosen the rightful channel to voice our concerns,” Dafaan stated during the interview. “We have absolute confidence that the Appeal Committee will look dispassionately into the facts presented and ensure that justice is served.”

While the specific contents of the petition were not fully made public, sources close to the lawmaker indicate that the document details widespread non-compliance with the electoral guidelines during the primary exercise.

VPN correspondent Dakwom Long’gul, who monitored the development at the party office, reports that the secretariat has seen an influx of aggrieved aspirants and party stakeholders over the last few days, underscoring the high stakes involved in the constituency’s ticket.

The APC Appeal Committee now faces the critical task of reviewing the petition alongside others submitted by members across the state ahead of the deadline for final candidate submissions.
