The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially declared David Bitrus K. Barji as its senatorial candidate for the Plateau Central Senatorial District ahead of the upcoming legislative elections.
The announcement followed the conclusion of the APC Senatorial Primary Election held on Monday, May 18, 2026.
According to the official Declaration of Result Form signed by the electoral officials, Barji secured a landslide victory, polling a staggering 57,727 votes to defeat six other aspirants in the race.

With the internal party process concluded, the primary election committee affirmed that David Bitrus K. Barji satisfied all the necessary requirements of the APC Constitution and Guidelines.
“David Bitrus K. Barji, having satisfied the requirements of APC Constitution and Guidelines and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner of the primary election, and is returned elected/nominated as the party’s Senatorial Candidate for Plateau Central Senatorial District,” the official declaration read.
The document was formally endorsed and signed on May 18, 2026, by the Chairman of the Primary Election Committee, Hon. Stella Chotelt Okebere, and the Secretary, Fidelis B. Mnyim.
