The Management of Plateau State Specialist Hospital has noted with concern a misleading report circulating on social media with the caption: “Tension in Plateau Government Hospital Over Terrorists’ Plot to Abduct Doctors, Other Workers.”
The Management through the Public Relations Officer of the Hospital, Talatu Achan Angi categorically states that the said report is false, sensational, and does not reflect the true situation within the hospital.
For the avoidance of doubt, the circular referenced in the publication was an internal communication issued as part of routine security advisories to staff. Such communications are standard practice aimed at promoting vigilance and ensuring the safety of staff and patients, particularly in the context of prevailing security realities.
Contrary to the claims in the report, there is no tension within the hospital. All staff and patients are going about their normal activities, and clinical services are being rendered without any disruption.
The Management therefore calls on members of the public to disregard the publication in its entirety, as it is capable of causing unnecessary panic and undermining public confidence in the hospital and the broader healthcare system.
The hospital remains safe, fully operational, and committed to providing quality and uninterrupted healthcare services to the people.
Members of the public are hereby encouraged to continue to access medical services at the hospital without fear, as all necessary measures are in place to ensure their safety and well-being.
The Management further urges media practitioners and the general public to verify information from credible sources before dissemination in order to avoid spreading misinformation.
