The Plateau State Association, USA, Inc. (PSA-USA) has expressed deep sorrow and outrage over the recent killings in Angwan Rukuba and surrounding communities in Jos, Plateau State.
In a statement signed by its President, Dr. Barth Shepkong, the association described the attacks as heartbreaking and unacceptable, noting that they have left families shattered, communities traumatized, and the entire State in grief.
“Plateau State, our beloved Home of Peace and Tourism, must not continue to bleed. Enough is enough,” the statement declared.
While acknowledging the visit of the President to the State as a recognition of the tragedy, PSA-USA stressed that the people of Plateau need more than sympathy declaring they need protection, justice, and decisive action.
“We mourn with the families who have lost loved ones. Your pain is our pain. Plateau indigenes across the world stand with you in this dark hour” the statement stated.
The association called for immediate security reinforcement, transparent investigations, and swift accountability for those responsible. It also urged the government to implement lasting solutions, including early warning systems, humanitarian support for victims, and comprehensive security reforms such as the establishment of state police.
PSA-USA emphasized that the continued loss of innocent lives is unacceptable and warned that the current security structure must be strengthened to confront evolving threats.
The group urged citizens to remain calm and united, rejecting all forms of division.
“To our leaders, the protection of lives is your foremost responsibility. Plateau cannot continue to bury its people in silence. This must stop.”
Reaffirming its commitment to peace, justice, and healing, PSA-USA concluded:
“May the souls of the departed rest in peace. May God comfort every grieving family. And may Plateau rise again—stronger, safer, and united.”
