The popular adage that “charity begins at home” came alive in Kwogo-Hoss as youths of the community took the lead in endorsing the Senate comeback bid of Simon Mwadkwon, former Senate Minority Leader.
The well-attended event, held at the MDG Hall, Hoss, drew a large gathering of youths, community leaders, and supporters from Kwogo Ward, all united in solidarity and firm support for the re-election of Senator Mwadkwon to represent Plateau North Senatorial District in 2027.
Speaking on behalf of the Kwogo-Hoss youths, Dongo Audu applauded Senator Mwadkwon’s outstanding leadership trajectory, spanning his roles as Chairman of Plateau North Youth Council (PYC) Riyom, President of the Berom Youth Movement (now Berom Youth Moulders Association), Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) Chairman of Riyom LGC, Executive Chairman of Riyom LGC, two-term Member of the House of Representatives for Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency, Senator representing Plateau North, and Senate Minority Leader of the 10th Senate. He noted that these positions were marked by impactful achievements and strategic empowerment initiatives that positively touched lives across the zone, stressing that Plateau North stands to gain even more with his return in 2027.
In his remarks, the Councillor of Kwogo Ward and Leader of the Riyom Legislative Council, Hon. Mafeng Mwanjal, commended the youths for what he described as a timely and well-considered endorsement. He praised Senator Mwadkwon’s purposeful leadership and consistent efforts in delivering grassroots development and democratic dividends to the people.
Also lending his voice, the spokesperson of Gwom Kwogo, Da Gyang Tep described the endorsement as a progressive and informed decision, citing numerous people-oriented achievements recorded by Senator Mwadkwon in his previous offices. He urged the youths to intensify mobilization efforts, particularly encouraging eligible voters to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the elections.
Director-General of the Simon Mwadkwon Campaign Directorate, Hon. Dalyop Mancha, a two-time member of the Plateau State House of Assembly, expressed appreciation to the youths for their overwhelming support. He described the ward as fortunate to have a visionary leader like Senator Mwadkwon, whose contributions have continued to attract goodwill and admiration across communities.
Responding, Simon Mwadkwon expressed deep gratitude to the youths for the confidence reposed in him. He assured them that he would not betray their trust, pledging to deliver credible and impactful representation that will further improve the lives of the people. He reiterated his unwavering commitment to service and urged the youths to remain law-abiding while promoting peace and unity within the community.
The formal endorsement motion was moved by Gol-Hoss Youth Leader, Rwas Mafeng Bitrus, and was unanimously seconded by members present.
The event also featured a special prayer session led by Pastor Davou Musa Bako, who prayed for divine protection, wisdom, and continued grace for Senator Mwadkwon to remain steadfast in service.
Other speakers, including Gideon Boyi, encouraged the Senator to remain resilient in the face of challenges, describing him as a worthy son and pride of the community.
In a show of commitment, the youths unveiled campaign materials in support of Senator Mwadkwon’s 2027 senatorial ambition.
