The ongoing 9th Batch Christian Pilgrimage has been deemed highly successful and impactful thus far.
The Head Store Officer of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Awogbami Ebenezer, made this assertion on Saturday, 1st March, 2025, following the conclusion of the exercise in the Kingdom of Jordan. According to him, the Commission’s meticulous logistical arrangements were instrumental in achieving the success recorded so far.
He commended the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, for the significant breakthroughs and his visionary leadership.
Moreover, he disclosed that the Pilgrims’ overall behavior has been impressive and worthy of praise, encouraging them to sustain this level of conduct during their trip to Israel. He also reassured the Pilgrims that the Commission would continue to prioritize their well-being throughout the exercise.
Right Reverend Ini Ukpho, a Chaplain with the Christian Centre Abuja, provided a Morning Exhortation, referencing Isaiah 54:10 and James 1:5, and advised the Pilgrims to uphold God’s principles and pray for faith to make a positive impact. He stressed that divine encounter should be the central focus of the Pilgrimage exercise.
The Pilgrims embarked on a tour of River Jabbok in the Jordanian Kingdom, a site renowned for Jacob’s encounter with an Angel of God, culminating in his blessing and name change to Israel. Additionally, the Pilgrims visited Umm Qais (Gadara), where Jesus Christ performed the miraculous healing of two demon-possessed men.
Evangelist Kinu Kabirwa, Director of Walsh Media Limited and a Pilgrim, voiced satisfaction with the exercise and optimism about its potential to drive meaningful change. He exhorted Pilgrims to strive for unity within the Body of Christ, promote patriotism, and counter negative narratives about the Country to bring about national transformation. He highlighted the spiritual significance of the exercise.
He said “We must change our mindset and be positive about a better Nation”
He further stated that the Nation’s decay is caused by the Citizen’s poor attitude and weak value system.
During an Evening Sermon, Pastor Olusegun Akinbidewa “Governor” took his Bible reading from Psalms 23:4 urging the Pilgrims to maintain a spiritual connection with God amidst challenges. He emphasized that in the face of trials, more profound testimonies are attainable. Furthermore, he exhorted them to be prepared for God’s rapture and not allow themselves to be overcome by the Devil and life’s challenges.
In his words “God that lead David through valley of shadow of death, will lead us through all valleys of shadow of death, in this pilgrimage, in our health, businesses, marriages, careers, ministry, finance, family, nation, etc. God will make us to make heaven (RAPTURE) and escape from the great tribulation and Armageddon”
The Pilgrimage exercise involved fervent intercessory prayers for Nigeria, the nation’s leadership at all levels, Christendom, and the world at large.
