The Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission’s Executive Secretary, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has encouraged prospective Christian pilgrims to harness the pilgrimage exercise for spiritual revitalization.
Bishop Adegbite delivered this message to prospective Christian pilgrims embarking on a journey to the Holy Land, Israel, and Jordan on February 26, 2025, at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
He stressed the importance of intensified prayers among participants to overcome the nation’s challenges and expressed confidence in the nation’s ability to overcome its quagmire and prosper under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.
He said “Prosperity in Nigeria is possible through collaborative effort, prayer, and support for the present administration”
According to him, the Commission has successfully airlifted over 4,000 Pilgrims to date and commended the Pilgrims for their exemplary conduct. While cautioning intending Pilgrims against abscondment, he urged them to serve as exemplary Ambassadors of their Families, Communities, States, and Nation.
He also underscored the significant enhancement of the spiritual lives of the Pilgrims, their respective Communities, and the Nation at large. He stated his commitment to fostering a culture of peace, in line with Islamic principles, and promoting unity across the Nation.
He expressed his gratitude for President Tinubu-led administration, praising his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the Pilgrims and their efforts to improve the lives of Citizens through people-centred policies and programmes.
He further emphasized the importance of utilizing the exercise as a means for the prospective Pilgrims to intercede for the Nation to achieve unparalleled success and prosperity. The 9th Batch of the Pilgrims, who departed Abuja at approximately 10 pm on Wednesday, 26th February 2025, via Air Anka, arrived at Jordan Airport Amman at past 5 am of Thursday 27th February, 2025.
The Delegation includes Senator Yohanna Amos, representing Adamawa North Senatorial Zone, Dr. Simon Dolly, the Federal Commissioner representing North Central in the Board of the Commission, and other senior Government officials.
The 9th Batch of Christian Pilgrimage comprised contingents from Nasarawa State and the Consular Services, with plans to visit several Holy and historic sites in Jordan and Israel with the Tour Guides readily available.
