The Managing Director of Plateau State Energy Corporation(PSEC), Ponzing Gamde, attended the launch of the Nigeria Solar for Health Programme (NISHP), an initiative aimed at providing uninterrupted power supply to healthcare facilities across Nigeria funded by the European Union.
The program will provide solar energy to many healthcare facilities across five states, including Plateau State, the only beneficiary state from the North. This move underscores Plateau State’s commitment to renewable energy and healthcare development under “The Time is Now” leadership of His Excellency, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, who graciously approved the payment of the N1.12Billion 30% counterpart funding to attract the NISHP to the state.
The NISHP aims to ensure a reliable and constant power supply to enhance healthcare services to save lives. By promoting the use of renewable energy, the program also reduces Nigeria’s dependence on fossil fuels, thereby mitigating climate change.
Plateau State’s involvement in the NISHP is a testament to the state’s progress in renewable energy development, driven by Ponzing Gamde’s leadership. The program focuses on sustainability and long-term impact.
