Former Nigeria’s Senate Minority Leader, Sen. Simon Mwadkwon PhD has congratulated honourable Justice Jummai Hannatu Chundung Sankey on her elevation and subsequent Inauguration today as a Justice of the Supreme Court by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.
Sen. Mwadkwon lauded Justice Jummai Chundung Sankey for her wealth of experience, hard work, perseverance, forthrightness, fearlessness and incorruptible disposition which he said have continued to add value and contributed immensely to the legal profession and judicial system in Nigeria.
He commended her for being a good Ambassador and making her Family, Berom Nation, Plateau State, Women and Nigeria as a whole proud.
“You are a reputable Women with uncompromising integrity just like your late Father, Lieutenant Colonel Yakubu Pam who was the Adjutant-General of the Nigerian Army and served the Nation diligently. You are writing your name in gold and your legacies are indelible in the annals of the legal profession”.
He said Hon. Justice Jummai Chundung Sankey has set a record as the first Plateau State Indigene to become a Justice of the Supreme Court (JSC).
He urged her and others sworn-in to be transparent, display integrity, stand by the truth and dispense Justice with the fear of God at all times in order to strengthen the Nation’s legal system.
He admonished them to adhere to the wise Counsel of their Principal the Chief Justice of Nigeria who called on them to see themselves as the “Representatives of God on earth”
While wishing her the best, he prayed God to provide her with the needed wisdom and capacity to succeed.
