The Jos North Traditional Council has called on the people of plateau state to support the security agencies in their bids to tackle insecurity and criminality on the plateau. The call was made today 17 June 2023, when the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN ( OPSH), Major General Abdulsalami Bagudu Ibrahim paid a courtesy call on the palace of the Ujah Anaguta, His Royal Majesty, Pozo Johnson Jauro Magaji in Jos North, Plateau State.
The Ujah Anaguta who decried the unfounded criticisms mated on the security agencies on social media noted that, the security agencies needs motivation, prayers and encouragement to be able to continually discharge their constitutional role of protecting the citizens. He called on all and sundry to join hands together to fight the enemies of peace. The Ujah further commended the security agencies for the sacrifices they always make to secure the country.
The paramount ruler also called on the citizens to always resort to alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and avoid acts capable of taking laws into their hands. “All misunderstandings in society can be resolved through dialogue and engagement among the aggrieved parties” he averred.
Speaking earlier, the GOC and Commander OPSH, Maj Gen Abdulsalami Ibrahim not that crisis are orchestrated by few bad eggs in the society, which he said van easily be flushed out with the support and cooperation of the people. He noted that Plateau State has all what it takes to be ahead of other states economically if lasting peace is achieved.
He applauded the leadership of the Ujah Anaguta towards uniting diverse people and living peaceful with one another. He called on the traditional leaders on the Plateau to prevail on their subject by preaching peaceful coexistence in their various domain.
The visit was anchored by presentation of momentos to honour the visit.
