Christian Pilgrimage: NCPC Holds JP Ceremony for 5th Batch of Pilgrims in Jerusalem


The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev. Dr Yakubu Pam has commended Pilgrims on good conduct and behaviour for the just concluded pilgrimage exercise by the 5th batch of Pilgrims to Jordan and Israel.

He made this statement recently during the JP ceremony of Pilgrims, which was held at Ramada Royal Hotel at Jerusalem in Israel.

Rev. Pam who was represented by the NCPC Deputy Director and Coordinator of Portharcourt office, Mr Ben Okoh, commended the fifth batch of pilgrims for dedicating this time to the service of God and being good ambassadors of Nigeria.

He equally applauded the State Pilgrim Welfare Boards Chairmen and Secretaries for their cooperation and humility during the pilgrimage exercise.

Also speaking at the event was Apostle Oko the Executive Secretary of Delta State Pilgrims Welfare Board, who expressed his profound appreciation to Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa for the love he has shown to his people by sponsoring about 386 pilgrims and even extending a hand of love to other states. He said, “our lives have been affected positively, we have always recorded a 100 percent success and this time around is no different, We want to thank God for all that have worked towards making this pilgrimage a remarkable experience for Delta State.”

In his own remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Borno State, Barr. Simon Malgwi equally gave special appreciation to God Almighty for the privilege to be on this particular pilgrimage exercise to the Holy Land of Israel and Jordan to see and walk the footsteps of Christ and see the bible come to life. “I believe this experience has been a very fulfilling one, I want to express deep gratitude to my Governor, Governor Babagana Zullum for sponsoring Christians in his state to go on pilgrimage and offer special prayers and intercede for the State.”

He explained that pilgrimage to the Holy land is not just for mere sight seeing, as he said; “my prayer that as we depart for Nigeria, we are a better people spiritually and physically and we pray that the forthcoming Elections will be a successful one.”

The Chairman, Kogi State Pilgrims Welfare Board Barr. Simon Ajinuti, in his goodwill message, commended the coordination of the pilgrimage exercise. In his words, “this pilgrimage has been very eventful and well coordinated, we’ve been to Jordan and also toured different Holy sites in Israel.”

He added, “Like we do say pilgrimage is more spiritual than any other thing, other things we do are just a side attraction in addition to it to make it more beautiful.”

He urged the pilgrims to take back the spiritually to Nigeria, “I want to say you must have enjoyed this pilgrimage exercise. Please take this back home and ensure that Nigeria is transformed and our people are informed, especially the Christian body, on the importance of pilgrimage.”

Barr. Ajinuti specially thanked NCPC, the ground handlers Tabars Tours for the well implementation of the pilgrimage exercise biblically.

The fifth batch of pilgrims comprises pilgrims from Delta, Borno and Kogi States.
