Beautiful gate handicapped people centre Jos an NGO based in Jos through a collaboration with Douglas Jurdimma, a corps member serving with Federal Government College Daura donated 40 wheelchairs to some people living with disabilities in Daura. The event took place at the palace of the emir of Daura and witnessed a huge turnout of dignitaries and beneficiaries.
Welcoming the guest, Mr Jurdima appreciates the emir and his councils for the opportunity and love shown to him and informed them that the wheelchairs were given to him free of charge by the Beautiful gate for onward distribution, he added that more than 50% of the logistics to transport the wheelchairs to Daura were handled by the NGO.
Responding, The Director and founder of Beautiful gate handicapped people centre Jos, Chief Ayuba Burki Gufwan applauded the corps member for having a heart for charity and encouraged him to keep it up. The Director also admonished the beneficiaries to be of good cheer and know that disability is not a key to death, he advised them to find something positive to do that will improve their livelihoods.
The emir of Daura His Royal Highness, Alhaji Dr Umar Faruk Umar CON showered praises on Mr. Jurdima and Chief Gufwan for finding his people worthy of such gestures, he called on his people to be law-abiding and to emulate the love displayed by the duo. He concluded by saying that the aim of establishing NYSC was to unite Nigerians irrespective of ethnic or religious background and that he is glad to say that he has witnessed it in his palace.
The highlight of the event was the decoration of Chief Ayuba Burki Gufwan by the Emir and his councils.
