Fix the game not blame: Who gains when ID Gyang fails in PDP?

DM Long’gul : Fix the game not blame: Who gains when ID Gyang fails in PDP?

Opinion: D.M Long’gul

I followed a trending flyer with the inscription: Senator ID Gyang says “it is not time to fix the blame, but time to fix the game” off cause it took my attention because plateau state history of legislators signals that good legislators don’t last long in office, the reason may be due to rotation culture others God-father factor, for ID Gyang’s case recently many on the streets belief is a fall-out with former Governor Jang, and indeed he lost the PDP primaries, so,  this was the case of ID Gyang, the distinguish senator representing plateau North in the National assembly. But it is not over, as the game is about to start.

To begin with, in passing a judgment, be it moral or otherwise, the past is usually significantly more valuable than the future, with this altruism we look at the face of the worthy senator who can be tagged as a leading beacon or the voice for not just Plateau North, Plateau state but the entire middle belt (both ideological & geographical middle-belt)

A young admirer of the people’s senator, L. A Tongs captured his major appearance as:

In the application of the legislative principle, a young admirer of the people’s senator, Mr L. A Tongs captured that the “Distinguished Senator Dr I.D Gyang had played several roles to ensure that democracy and good governance is entrenched within the broader political spectrum in the interest of Nigeria and Nigerians. Just to mention but a few:”

1. The firm position of the Distinguished Senator I.D Gyang against the nomination of Lauretta Onoche as INEC’s National Commissioner who is a card-carrying partisan member of a political party which will directly affect the integrity and neutrality of the electoral umpire as an independent Election Management Body. This position was then unanimously adopted by the Nigerian Senate Committee of the Whole as a pathway to upscale the integrity of elections and strengthen Nigeria’s nascent democracy.

2. A motion before the Nigerian Senate urging the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to come to the of his constituents affected by the incessant attacks which led to the timely intervention by NEMA to approve the release of relief materials as some sought succour to cushion the effects of the attacks on affected communities.

3. A motion before the Senate over the unconstitutional impeachment of the Rt. Hon. Speaker Ayuba Abok of the Plateau State House of Assembly, caused the Nigerian Senate to intervene and serve as a deterrence against future precedence of putting democracy into mockery and ridicule.

4. A motion on notice before the Nigerian Senate on the “Reversionary Right” meted against his constituents and Nigerians. Therefore urging the Nigerian government through the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs to recover the colonial imperial exploitation of our national resources used to develop the British economy. This is in line with international law. This move if successful will significantly turn around Nigeria’s economy and address the issues of poverty, unemployment and inequality into the dustbin of history for good.

5. The Constitution Alteration Bill to Alter the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic by Altering Barkin Ladi Local Government Area to Gwol Local Government Area. This was a giant move to reflect the true identity of the aborigines and protect the historical heritage of the ethnic nationality domiciled within the local government area.

With the above five (5) points among many, not including his legislative plus- i.e job opportunities to many, street lighting in his constituency, empowerment of women among others, only beneficiaries can say the impact, because, as Williams Shakespeare admonish us, we say, the evil that men do lives after them and their good deeds are often buried in their bones” and so shall it be with senator ID Gyang because certainly the game is not over so fix the game and not the blame!!!

In fixing the game, the plateau is watching if this erudite legislator will not duel on the narrative that there is a fall-out between him and former Governor David Jang, or even the attempt by the PDP state Exco to ridicule him by not inviting him officially to the many functions of the party, recently, including the visit of the flag bearer Barr. Caleb Mutfwang to Abuja for the collection of his PDP certificate of return or the many functions in the state that ID Gyang is visibly excluded.

In fixing the game, the plateau is watching, because of the 20 votes gap between distinguish senator ID. Gyang and his opponent, Hon Simon Mwadkom seem to be given an ethnic colouration, that Jos-East despite many benefits from I.D Gyang with the highest constituency project, only gave him three (3) votes, political pundits, explained this scenario to the political interest of the Afizere to occupy the seats of the house of representatives but the thinking that ID Gyang will support Hon. Musa Dachung Bagos also open up a new vista for protest hence the 3 votes. How will the distinguished Senator fix the game here?

Additionally, in fixing the game, the player must be swift in taking the decision, and since even followers of the Distinguish Senator ID Gyang in protest exited MANY PDP PLATFORMS, IT SEEMS “THE DRUMMER OF THE DANCING SNAKE IS IN THE NEARBY BUSH”. So, will ID. Gyang follow the path of Prof. Sonny Tyoden who contested for the seat in PDP and lost the primaries and took a chance to decamp to APC and deputize governor SBL in 2015?

Shall it be said that here is the Distinguish ID? Gyang, one time this and a one time that who is now a member of the APC, and the Deputy Governor to the flag bearer of the APC?  Is that fixing the game?

To this end, in Nigerian politics, the lesson is captured like this “it is not the strongest of the political species that lived but the most adaptive to political change” in agreement with ID Gyang, indeed, it is about fixing the game, because the blame is not necessary for now, when you have power, you can fix the blame…
