Frontline Aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a Public Health Expert, Dr. Patrick Dakum has won the APC Online opinion poll conducted by the Plateau Progressive Youth Network (PPYN) Group.
The online poll lasted for four (4) Days and saw Dr. Dakum polling 16,718 votes of the 36,244 total votes representing 46.1% to come top followed by Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda who scored 14,953 votes (41.3%), Mr. Sunday Biggs pulled 2,274 votes (6.3%), Prof. Sonni Tyoden secured 1,929 votes representing 5.3% and others.
The group while declaring the winner of the Online Poll appreciated those who participated and disclosed that the results have shown that the Winner, Dr. Patrick Dakum is recommended as the preferred, trusted and competent Aspirant of the ruling Party, APC in the forthcoming gubernatorial primaries slated for Wednesday 26th May, 2022.
The group stated that the public had the opportunity to observe and evaluate the agenda of various Aspirants in the forthcoming elections.
They said Dr. Dakum’s honest, pragmatic and hopeful insight into the State’s problems, needs and his willingness to examine the issues and listen closely to public concern set him far apart from other Aspirants’ expected techniques and talk.
They declared their support for his aspiration and admonished the people of Plateau State to vote for him in the forthcoming as well as disseminate the values of his policies and abilities to others.
In his remarks, Dr. Patrick Dakum appreciated the group for the honour and said the progress of the State concerns everyone in the present generation who he urged to work to bequeath a more prosperous State to generations unborn.
He described his consolidation mantra as being an ideology that is targeted at taking care of what happened in the past by looking at their best practices, what is happening now and what will happen to future generations. He said the consolidation team is committed to addressing what concerns everybody.
“Most of you here have parents alive or not and your concern is how to take of them and give them better lives; as such any programme that excludes them is that which excludes people that have meant a lot to you.
“When we talk about the present generation, we are talking about the people that are feeling the pain the way it is now; and when we talk of the future we are talking about the people who are looking up to us to set examples for them.
“We look forward to a prosperous Plateau State where everybody will be able to pursue their dreams whether they are individuals or communities” he said.
He urged his campaign team not allow the result of the poll make them relent in working harder to achieve victory at both the primaries and main election.
The event featured the presentation of an award to the Winner.
