After recording an impressive outing in Bokkos yesterday during the Advocacy/Sensitization Program on Narcotics and Psychotropic Drugs Addiction for Secondary School students, it was the turn of Pankshin to benefit from the efforts in sensitizing secondary schools students.

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Drugs and Narcotics, Senator Hezekiah Ayuba Dimka again used the occasion to advise youth to be weary of negative peer influence while studying; as many have been led astray by their colleagues who had abused drugs.

The Senator was speaking today at the Kajola Cooperative Hall at the sensitization training for students drawn from various secondary schools in Pankshin LGA, Plateau State.

He praised the NDLEA in its effort to ensure communities are drug free, as such will encourage younger persons to live fulfilled lives while adding value in different forms in the development of the society.

Chairman of the APC in Pankshin local government area, Hon Shikmuut Tanimu Dashe who attended in company of the women and youth leaders and other party officials was grateful to Senator Hezekiah Dimka for his efforts to sensitize the youth and prayed that the beneficiaries will continue to be ambassadors working for a drug free society.

Shikmuut said he was impressed with the efforts he has put to change the narrative of development in the state. He therefore prayed for the Senator to continue to make inroads in his desire to govern the state in 2023.

The District Head of Kadung, Lawi B Likem praised the efforts of Senator Dimka and wished him well as he encouraged participants not to forget what they learned.

Speaking in the same vein, Area Education Director, Wambutda Caleb Ado encouraged participants to put in their best in studies as they had so much to gain if they shun drugs.

Bello Mumini, DCN of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Plateau State Command who spoke on drugs and its effects during the sensitization was held in conjunction with NDLEA and sponsored by Senator Hezekiah Ayuba Dimka.

The Consultant to the sensitization Alhaji Suleman Ningi was on hand for the two days to add colour to the initiative.

The event will soon be held in other local government areas of the zone soon, as it is the desire of Senator Hezekiah Dimka to sensitize students in the area.

Danladi Grace Yildung, Nman Abigail Simon and Rotsi Sale Gomwit, who participated in the event were grateful to Senator Hezekiah Dimka for the opportunity as it enabled them to be knowledgeable of what to do.
