The appointments of Nda Nkek (Leaders/Wakilai/Maiagwans) to take charge of their respective ethnic groups on behalf of the Long (Chief) is not only meant to bridge the gap between them and the palace bit is also aimed at fostering unity among the indigenous communities and all the visitors within Kwo Chiefdom.
The Long Kwo of Kwo Chiefdom in Quaan Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State, HRH Miskoom Fidelis Longtoe Attahiru I said this on Thursday December 9, 2021 during the conferment of some of his Shaatlong (Cabinet Chiefs); Nda Nkek (Leaders/Wakilai/Maiagwans) of the various ethnic nationalities within the Chiefdom, as well as the constitution of female cabinet Chiefs by the Moegajiya ( Magajiya/ Female leader) of Kwo Chiefdom in Kwande, the headquarters of the Chiefdom.
Miskoom Attahiru I further stated that apart from enhancing development in the Chiefdom, he added that such appointments would create room for quick resolutions of issues brought to them, since the leaders are closest to their respective communities.
He urged the leaders to see their appointments as call to service advising them not the lord themselves on their respective ethnic groups.
The Long Kwo also appealed to the ethnic nationalities to respect and channel all their problems to their leaders, instead of rushing to the palace.
Also speaking, the Moegajiya of Kwo Chiefdom Nna Margaret Matkwap Dabit described the occasioned of the appointment of female cabinet Chiefs is coming after more than three decades after the last exercise.
While congratulating the new female chiefs, he called on them to be diligent and honest in the execution of their assignments.
Nna appealed to those missed out to be patient, saying that, “…. the business of appointing cabinet Chiefs is a continuous process. If you did not get today be patient, tomorrow you may get it.”
Among those conferred with the titles of Shaatlong, cabinet Chiefs are Miskoom Leo Nshe Tuamling, Luugel;
Longjapsual I (Sarkin Samari) Lasual Shepnaan Manomi; Longjapsual 2, Lasual Henry Bako Hakuri; Longluutuk (Sarkin Kasuwa) Miskoom Eugene Maigari Longnaan; Long Poeyak, Miskoom Danlami Nkup and the Long Whe’er II ( Sarkin Fili II), Miskoom Simon King Dogara.
Those appointed as Nda Nkek (Leaders and Maiangwas) of the various ethnic nationalities and some settlements are; Hilary Damenaing, Dajin Gwopna area; Istifanus Wasen, Mupun I; Francis Jar Davial, Mupun II; Joseph Sabo Datsen, Doemak; Lengshak Kebang, Ngas; Habu D. Nyamsahuk, Balkat; Emmanuel Luutnaan, Kwaklak; Tanko Dongnaan, Poyak; Danladi Kangma, Miship; Anthanasius Iorkya’a, Tiv; Oliver Nwankwo, Igbo; Thomas Neklat, Bwall; Longhas Yatu, Koenoem; Nasuk Goewam, Jepbuan Area; Godiya Kwallat, Dabat area; Ali Maidoya, Yan Shirani I; Rabiu Liman, Yan Shirani II and Poesmuk Dapam, Npia Karkas area.
