Hon. Simon Mwadkwon Set to Sponsor “Ji-Loh Berom” on KT FM Jos, Says Human Capital Development Remains His Priority

All plans have been concluded by the Member representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency Plateau State, Hon. Simon Mwadkwon Ph.D to commence full sponsorship of “Ji-Loh Berom” a Berom Radio Programme aired on KT FM 103.9 Jos for a Year.
Hon. Mwadkwon said having known how rich the programme is and its focus towards preserving the cultural heritage of the Berom, it is pertinent not to discontinue it on account of lack of sponsorship.

According to the Federal Legislator, the value of the programme to the Berom Nation far outweighs the cost of sponsorship.

“The programme is not only entertaining but informative and educative aimed at preserving and projecting our cultural heritage especially, the Berom dialect”
“It is also achieving a futuristic goal of not allowing the Berom language go into extinction and I commend that vision of the Owner, management and staff of the Station for sustaining such laudable vision”

The Lawmaker said the programme is connecting the Berom both at home and in the diaspora as it is being broadcasted live online realtime. He disclosed that the unity and cultural heritage preservation components of the programme informed his decision to sponsor it for a Year and look forward to renewing the sponsorship when the need arises. He said it is vital to preserve the Berom culture, transmit it to present generation and pass same to the next generations.


He made the disclosures while featuring as a Guest on “Ji-Loh Berom” programme at KT FM 103.9.
He said as Chairman of the Committee on Relief Materials to Displaced Persons constituted by the Gbong Gwom Jos, His Majesty Da Jacob Buba CON, they are working assiduously in line with the mandate of the Committee to ensure the humanitarian challenges faced by the displaced persons in Berom Land are addressed.

The Lawmaker again reiterated his commitment to attracting infrastructural and human capital development as well as provide credible representation.

He decried the intake of illicit substances and abuse of drugs by the citizenry saying doing so is capable of making those involved not to put their potentials to better use.
He said in October, 2021 he was able to train 150 Constituents compromising Youth and Women in Poultry and agribusiness and was able to assist them with birds and startup capital in order to make them economically stable and financially independent.

He hinted that though he is representing Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency, he will continue to assist people irrespective of their place of origin when the need arises saying his priority is humanity.

He disclosed that plans are underway to disburse scholarship to over 500 Undergraduate and postgraduate Students.

Speaking on behalf of the management of KT FM, the Station Manager, Rwas Tok Morgan appreciated the Lawmaker for his interest in the station and it programmes. He said the partnership will go a long way to preserving and promoting the Berom dialect as well as its global identity.
