Management Committee Chairman of Riyom Local Government Council, Mafeng Gwallson has said his administration would continue to initiate robust programmes toward having a sustainable security framework that will stand the test of time and enable every stakeholder in the locality to actively participate.
Gwalson stated this during the official inauguration of the Plateau State Civilian Security Joint Taskforce for Riyom Local Government area, held at Riyom.
The Council Chairman while performing the exercise handed over items which include Raincoats, Rain boots, Torchlights and Whistles to the Leader of the Plateau state Civilian Security Joint Taskforce of Riyom Local Government Area, Dachung Monday.
Mafeng Gwallson noted that his administration is determined and remains unbending to make Riyom Local Government area more secured than ever.
The Council’s Chief Security further urged them to work with the Police and other security agencies in the area to effectively tackle the issue of insecurity across all the communities in the Local Government area, and also warned that anyone found wanting will be handed over to the Police for further necessary action.
The Local Government Chairman said he believes that the key to a happy and prosperous environment is tight security architecture, that is why his administration made security his number one priority.
On his part, the Divisional Police Officer in Charge of Riyom Local Government, Fatai Ettu praised the Council Chairman for investing heavily in security, noting that the items presented would go a long way in boosting the morale of the security and enhance their capacity to fight crime in the Local Government area.
Da Gwom Rwei, Riyom, HRH Da Samuel Jock commended the Council Chairman for his effort in handling security situations across the Local Government area, and urged the beneficiaries to do everything possible to ensure that the items are handled with care so as to deliver the intended outcome which is to maintain security in all nooks and crannies of Riyom Local Government area.
Receiving the items, Leader of the Plateau State Civilian Security Joint Taskforce of Riyom Local Government area, Dachung Monday, thanked the Council Chairman for empowering them with the working items, assuring that they will do everything within their power to ensure security of lives and property across all communities in the locality.
